I thought I’d write a DIY recipe with a fruit that’s the best it can be at this time year so your skin can absorb all of its natural goodness. Strawberries are in season at the moment and are jam packed full of vitamin C and alpha-hydroxy acids that can be used to help to naturally exfoliate your skins surface. Strawberries are also excellent for acne so are fantastic for combination and oily skin. YOU WILL NEED: 1 mashed strawberry ½ teaspoon natural yoghurt ½ teaspoon of finely granulated sugar ½ teaspoon of fine oatmeal METHOD: Mash up your strawberry and mix in your natural yoghurt. Mix in your sugar and oatmeal until you have a smooth mixture that is similar to a scrub consistency Cleanse your face and pat dry. Apply your scrub mixture to your face by rubbing it in small circular motions to get rid of any dead skin cells. The strawberries will also help to absorb excess oil and sebum. Rinse off the scrub then pat your face dry. Follow with an all natural toner and moisturiser. Might I suggest my Honey, Lavender and Aloe Toner Hopefully this recipe should make your skin glow a lot brighter and feel a lot smoother. I will be writing a few recipes for dry, normal and mature skin over the next couple weeks so make sure you look out for them. Pascale Loveniers Beauty, Wellness & Health Blog

Ginger is one of those ingredients I just love to use, whether it’s cooking or skincare! It’s got a number of wonderful benefits including: Increased skin radiance due to the fact it helps to improve circulation. It’s a natural anti-oxidant which helps to fight free radicals. (Free radicals are one of the main promoters of skin aging) It is known to promote the skins smoothness and suppleness. Energising and invigorating to the senses. So as you can see, it’s a pretty wonderful natural ingredient to use and as such, I’ve decided to share with you some of my favourite ways to use it in skincare. GINGER AND HERBAL FOOT BATH

Let the ginger bundle soak in the water for 2 minutes then squeeze it to get the juice out. Pop your feet in for 10-15 minutes and enjoy! GINGER AND PEACH FACE MASK Smells good enough to eat! But obviously don’t... YOU WILL NEED: 1 flesh of one ripe peach 1/2 inch piece of peeled ginger root 1 teaspoon of kaolin clay METHOD: Simply put your peach and peach in a blender until smooth then add your kaolin clay. GINGER AND LIME SALT BODY SCRUB YOU WILL NEED: 2 inch piece of cucumber 1inch piece of ginger 1 cup of sea salt Zest of one lime Juice of half a lime 1 tbsp of almond oil (olive can be used as well) METHOD: Peel the ginger and grate it coarsely Zest the lime and squeeze out half the juice Roughly chop the cucumber and place in a food processor with the ginger, lime, almond oil and sea salt then blitz until you have a gritty texture then pour into a container In the shower rub the scrub in firm circular movements into damp skin paying particular attention to the knees, elbows and ankles.
